You are cordially invited to participate in the third annual Streeterville Artisan Market. Our participants create high quality, hand-crafted applied arts and fine crafts in a variety of media and in a wide price range, in order to appeal to a large and diverse urban audience.
The Artisan Market is sponsored by SOAR (Streeterville Organization of Active Residents), the 501(c)3 not-for-profit advocacy organization in the important North Michigan Avenue mixed-use community. The event is open to the public in the comfortable, intimate, street level lobby of the Lurie Research Center of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Lurie is located in the center of this busy neighborhood, just steps away from Michigan Avenue, the Magnificent Mile.
Timed to coincide with the beginning of the 2010 holiday shopping season, this year’s Artisan Market will attract an unusually high volume of foot traffic from the annual Festival of Lights Parade and ancillary events all along nearby Michigan Avenue. The Festival of Lights, sponsored by the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association, kicks off the holiday shopping season around the country and will be nationally televised on ABC-TV on Saturday, November 20. The show will be well publicized through Chicago media and the SOAR website, press releases, posters, flyers and postcards, which are free to all vendors.
The deadline for applications is July 31, 2010. The application is available at www.soarchicago.org. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by August 15, 2010.
