Celebrating its 9th year, Art and Soul on the Fox is an Elgin tradition whose purpose is to bring a quality art event to the city of Elgin and surrounding communities. This FREE event is a two day juried art fair located in downtown Elgin, Illinois and features both fine art and the work of skilled artisans.
The event is a collaborative effort of Art for All (a 501c3 art league) and the City of Elgin.

$1,500 IN CASH PRIZES.
$400 First Prize, $300 2nd Prize, $200 3rd Prize, Five $100 Certificates of Merit, and One $100 Artist Choice Award.
Award winners are selected by professional judge(s), for excellence, regardless of media.
Art & Soul on the Fox is promoted through featured newspaper articles, internet and print advertising, e-blasts, magazine ads, social media marketing, and broadcast radio promotion.
Participation is open to all who create fine art along with the work of skilled artisans. All work represented must be of an original concept executed and designed by the artist in attendance and must be consistent with the jury images provided at the time of application. Art and Soul on the Fox reserves the right to remove any and all works deemed not suitable at the time of the festival. It also reserves the right to select or invite other applicants in order to ensure a balanced show with respect to mediums. Art and Soul on the Fox reserves the right to refuse any application at their discretion and any artist not conforming to the rules of the show will be removed.
Individual consideration of any media not listed will be given upon request. No work that has been made with commercial kits, molds, patterns, plans, prefabricated pieces, or assembly line technique will be allowed. Buy/sell items are NOT allowed.
Artists are responsible for their own tents, display tables, and related materials.
Non-refundable Application/Jury Fee: $10
Booth fees vary and are determined by the date on which the application, images, and application fee were received.
Early Bird deadline: Tuesday, November 1, 2016
Regular deadline: Tuesday, February 28, 2017
Final deadline: Tuesday, May 30, 2017 provided spaces are still available. Some categories may close by the Regular deadline so we encourage interested applicants to apply early!
Payment in full for Early Bird and Regular deadlines is due by March 31, 2017. Applicants failing to pay in full by this date must REAPPLY which includes both the payment of a 2nd application fee and a late booth fee if accepted. The late booth fee will be required regardless of the timing of the original application. Acceptance will be based upon available booth spaces in the artist's medium. Payment in full for applicants accepted after February 28, 2017 is due no later than June 15, 2017.
Cancellation Fee: Accepted artists who cancel by May 1, 2017 will receive a full refund of the booth fee. Artists who cancel after May 1, 2017 will receive no refund.
Basketry, clay/ceramics, computer generated art, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, sculpture, up-cycled art, and wood. If you work in a medium not listed, please contact us for consideration to apply to the event.
In addition to the required $10 non-refundable application fee, booth fees in 2016 ranged from $75 - $125. As there may be some minor changes to the 2017 booth fees, please refer to the application for the 2017 fees that will remain very reasonable. As artists ourselves, we understand the importance of keeping the costs to the participating artists reasonable while providing a great venue to promote their art.
