Art Spectacular is held on the lawn of beautiful Washington Park, which is next to a wealthy neighborhood of art-buying, appreciative and knowledgeable patrons. The park setting provides a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing venue for the beautiful, original, quality artwork. 6,000 patrons from Central Illinois love this art fair for its size, its variety, quality of artwork, and balance of media.
Springfield is home to 3 universities, a community college, a school of medicine, a large medical community, the IL state capitol and President Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Art Spectacular is a fundraiser for the non-profit world-class 67-bell carillon in Washington Park, one of the largest and finest carillons in the world. Featuring up to 50 artists, art spectacular also features a Preview Sale, Patron Bucks, Demos, Music, and Food Vendor; and the popular Silent Auction and Gift Basket Raffle which benefit the Rees Carillon.
Art Spectacular is a show you should apply to if you want to participate in an art fair juried for quality and balance; a highly respected fine art fair that is raved about by both artists and patrons; an art fair with volunteers who will 'spoil' you with free coffee, water, soda and time-of-day appropriate snacks all weekend; provide load-in assistance if desired; booth sitting; artists' award dinner; and a show known for having 'heart' with it Chair on-site, visible, available and responsive all weekend!
